His business phone is 520-795-6424. We elected to sell our Volvo in the end, but he did a nice job going over it for the new owner, and we belatedly found out he could fix the a/c for about a third less than the other quotes we'd gotten, so we might regret our decision in the end. Anyway, give him a call if you're in the area, he really is a wizard with Volvos.Missyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06368796822430075679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3173786452065563153.post-55739005186255012052008-05-19T13:21:00.000-07:002008-05-19T13:21:00.000-07:00I know this is an OLD post, but we've got two OLD ...I know this is an OLD post, but we've got two OLD Volvos, so I guess there's some symmetry there. (OK, that's a stretch, but I really need some info from you...and hope you see this even though it's about an OLD post.)
I read your blog about getting no satisfaction with various Volvo mechanics until you finally found one who actually fixes Volvos and is reasonable in price. We, too, we would like to invest in a good mechanic rather than another car, and both of ours (an '87 and a '98) need help! So PLEASE, Missy, who is this Volvo mechanic you found? A friend bought a $480K house in So. Cal. on an interest-only arm -- he was fresh out of college and he and his wife were earning decent money (about $120K/year) but not enough for a house like that! Their response was, "housing never goes down" and my response was, "Look at the '80s, because it did." Luckily we can hang on to our place as rental property for as long as we need to.Missyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06368796822430075679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3173786452065563153.post-18134618411832162422007-12-20T07:44:00.000-08:002007-12-20T07:44:00.000-08:00There is a ton of news and conversation about the ...There is a ton of news and conversation about the housing and mortgage mess. Initially, I was a low wage earner, but then started my own biz. With no debt and youth on my side, the power of compounding worked in my favor.

I now return to college periodically to take classes of special interest to me. I do enjoy learning. But obviously a degree (and the accompanying debt) is not always necessary.

Thanks for the mention of my blog.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3173786452065563153.post-540298242528131022007-12-01T11:04:00.000-08:002007-12-01T11:04:00.000-08:00The mechanic works for a company called the Swedis...The mechanic works for a company called the Swedish Connection here in Tucson. Attempts have been made to persuade Lewis that until the land tenure situation has been addressed, in particular the question of the ownership and custodianship of the natural resources, there will be no sustained development or conservation. Why, when the House of Chiefs has accepted the need for the creation of chiefdom Trusts, does he continue on with his antediluvian ways. His Admade programme, now abandoned, points the way to yet another future waste of everyone's time.
The Luembe Conservancy Trust
ipamanning@gmail.com
http://zambiaconservation.blogspot.comFRIENDS OF LOWER ZAMBEZIhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06193343090968516070noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3173786452065563153.post-70125544106761573502007-02-18T10:57:00.000-08:002007-02-18T10:57:00.000-08:00Having banks hold all their money in reserve is di...Having banks hold all their money in reserve is difficult for a variety of reasons.

It's not difficult, it's impossible; If banks are holding all of their money, they have none to loan out, thus no source of income, no way to pay interest on savings balances, no incentive for people to deposit money, and no business model.Martihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02913826636869760499noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3173786452065563153.post-86573108401503971042007-02-14T08:34:00.000-08:002007-02-14T08:34:00.000-08:00Hey now, I published no names, and this is an anon...Hey now, I published no names, and this is an anonymous blog, after all...

If you pay off your credit cards at the end of the month there is rarely a reason to read the contract, I agree.
